It’s Not a Delay if it’s Everyday; MTA Summer of Hell 2017
It’s the summer of 2017 and New York’s Penn Station has just partially closed down for much-needed track and switch replacements after two major train derailments. Commuter rail service has been dramatically slashed, leading to overcrowded trains and platforms. However, what was only supposed to be limited to commuter rail has coincided with decades of neglect for the New York City Subway system, eventually coming to a head and leading to mass frustration in the city. Track fires, train derailments, crowded platforms, long wait times, stuck elevators, crumbling ceilings - these are the cataclysms facing the nearly 5.6 Million daily riders. You must address this growing problem, along with bureaucratic delays and animosity between the offices of Mayor de Blasio and Governor Cuomo…. And with the recent installation of cellular service on all platforms - deal with the wrath of disgruntled New Yorkers. With tensions flaring and emotions running high, can you solve this crisis - or will you allow the city to crumble from below?
